Up here in Portland, OR it is PRIDE week and I have to say it's going to be a great weekend for this celebration of identity, love and acceptance. Having spent the better part of my career living and working in San Francisco the notion of a PRIDE parade is second nature to me. Portland, OR is a great place for celebrating PRIDE and the LGBTQ community is alive and well.
To all tech founders looking for capital and operational assistance that identify with the LGBTQ+ community I would love to learn more about the business you are running and how you plan to give back to a greater social good within your community.
I would also like to take a brief moment to tell you about Angelic Williams, Founder of MyUmbrella in San Francisco. She is one of 11 children in her family and is launching a new App focused on the LGBTQ+ community. I met with her two weeks ago and would encourage anyone interested in learning about her story as a women of color in the LGBTQ+ technology community to test out her new App and look over the Facebook page for MyUmbrellaHQ.
MyUmbrella provides marginalized members of the LGBTQ+ community with a safe platform to connect and share stories about navigating the journey of living openly and authentically in their relationships, families and friendships. Launching June 1, 2018.
